Affiliate Marketing | Starting Out

Well as many people know there are so many ways to improve your life financially, freeing up more of your time for the more important things like more time to spend with your family, friends, and self.

I stumbled across affiliate marketing quite some time ago… oh about 10 years ago. Was I skeptical? Oh, yeah I was… and I thought that there was no way I could make any big money doing this.

Well I felt compelled to give it a shot my first affiliate marketing experience was with a group called All Advantage, it was a slow start at first but as I placed an ad here and an ad there on web-sites and in email I started seeing checks in the mail at first it was only $50, then $100 and it went up from there.

However, they went belly-up and there I was with no extra money coming in, so I signed-up with Click-Bank a large affiliate marketing network… I’ve had some luck with them and other networks. Again it was a slow start, but after about five and a half weeks I started getting commission checks for $200 to $600… it was not all that great but was still extra money.

I now had a taste of what I wanted and had to figure out just what I was doing wrong… after all I’ve seen where other people were making over $10,000 a month, so why was I unable to break the $1000 make. I sat down and made a simple web-site and I then placed my affiliate links on the pages. I put my Click-Bank, Friend Finder, and other links on every single page in little short articles and I started seeing results.

At first I put one to two links in my little articles and later started adding four to five, but no more than five to keep everything simple. You’ve heard of the K.I.S.S method I’m sure… Keep It Simple Stupid (or Silly) whichever you prefer; anyway I’m a firm believer in keeping things simple.

Oh, and before I start rambling even more and get off topic the affiliate that I’ve made the most money with so far was Adult Friend Finder. Anyway affiliate marketing is done online using the Internet, email, and classified ads. Basically you need to do anything you can to get people to click on your affiliate links… just don’t use SPAM or other shameful tactics.
